Long term tree management

Trees are an important part of the public space. Since problems in mature trees or early failure often can be prevented in the juvenile stage, it is necessary to perform maintenance to ensure that trees grow correctly after planting. For this purpose a maintenance based tree management plan is prepared, which is often an extension of the tree policy.

The basis for optimal tree management is an updated tree database. The database increases the understanding of both the quality and quantity of individual trees and tree structures. Based on individual management models for maintenance, the frequency for tree pruning and safety inspections can be scheduled. Afterwards, calculation of the yearly budget for maintenance is easy to realise.
